good picks in the movie dept. My fourth would be Wild Bunch. My fave McCarthy book is Blood Meridian and I always thought McCarthy's books couldn't be made into movies.
Appreciate your words about Morphine. The story. Not...well...the opiate. But thinking about it, fiction and opiates may be equally helpful to humans, though fiction is pretty dangerous.
Thank you, Steven. I'm glad you read about my Irish boys. I keep finding more and more Irish in my blood. There's French and Austrian, too, and even a bit of Welsh, but man, a lot of Irish!
Thank you so much for your comment on "Bird Noises." Yeah, Bird France used to have a lot more flowers and archaeological excavations. Also, where did the free health care go?
Thank you Steven for reading - A Little Lotion Talk - and leaving comments.
Nothing beats a surprising real-life gem.
Just gotta be in the right place at the right time with a pencil in hand!

Heh Heh, Steve. Another Billy Idol fan I see. Plastic Jesus/Magnetic Mary reminds me of a photo I saw during the Terry Schiavo protests in Florida in 2005. Maybe you've seen it. Some guy driving around with a lifesize Jesus Christ nailed to a cross that was anchored to a boat trailer. It was hinged to allow the cross to pop up for its normal display. It was often referred to as Jesus Christ on a Trailer Hitch. I think that's taking things a bit far, but on the flip side it seems like a good starting point for a story.
Anyway, thanks for the read and comment on Sensation: Holy Virgin Mary, written in response to the controversy over Chris Ofili's interpretation of the Virgin Mary.
HEy dude, thank you for your kindness on the horse witht eh beguiling smile micro/poem it means a lot. you rock ! it is always hard to share shit that is so dark.
Seems I'm a bit late to the party here at Fictionaut, Steven. I've been waiting quite some time for an invitation and it finally arrived. Anyway, reading stories like "Daddy Walked the Pits" is a big part of what inspires me to write. I look forward to reading the rest of your fiction/poetry. Also, thanks for the comment on "Parade," as well as the fav.
I have actually watched "Plan 9 from Outer Space". Poor Bela- died before the shoot was done. I understand that's where the the ape in a space helmet came from. Loved the Johnny Depp portrayal. Thanks for reading "I'm Waiting"- the encouragement means a great deal to me.
Steve, it's a real treat to see your comment at "Listing." I get the idea you do know something about poetry. I guess the most important thing is that it moves you. And if mine did, then that makes my day. Thank you.
Steven, I didn't give it a helluva lotta thought. It just sorta squirted out. Glad you liked it. I didn't add that while we waited by the stage door Bob Denver rode up on a bicycle and escorted us to the set. Friendly, humble, seemed like an old friend.
Thanks, Steven, for your comments on Aerospace. "Rosie's Back!" was the banner on a small cement block bldg. Inside Rosie and the Screamers, including her brother--a goth-looking cadaver on lead guitar--pounded out Rolling Stones covers...the joint was rocking...
Steve, I appreciate that you got so much out of my flash piece "The Crack". It's funny, I've been remembering it periodically all of my adult life and only just then, when I wrote it, did the Freudian implications occur to me. I was too young then to know anything about vaginas or their significance - I think. I have the flying dreams occasionally, too, but always find them exhilarating as they represent a triumph of sorts or an escape for me.
So much kindness and empathy in your Chrysalis comment, means so very much to me. I never even thought of that. The loneliness of bipolar, where you are always on a different plane than everyone else. Thank you for that gift.

Steve, I appreciate that you got so much out of my flash piece "The Crack". It's funny, I've been remembering it periodically all of my adult life and only just then, when I wrote it, did the Freudian implications occur to me. I have the flying dreams occasionally, too, but always find them exhilarating as they represent a triumph of sorts or an escape for me.
