Things Get Fuzzy
by Gary Hardaway
when the bogeyman might be anywhere.
We can't just bomb Berlin or Dresden,
Nagasaki or Hanoi, to make things safe
for that democracy we love.
The enemy's no longer
conveniently geographic. We
must carpet bomb the world
to kill the source of all our fear today.
Which is to say everyone, everywhere.
Great first stanza.*
Haunting truth here. Good opening. *
I wonder if our prehistoric ancestors felt the same, their vast undifferentiated world thriving with danger and threat in every direction.*
Amen. *
*, Gary. "Things Get Fuzzy", aka "The End".
Geopolitical as poetry done quite well here. *
