Mortality
by Gary Hardaway
The list of things to live for
shortens with age. The list of regrets
lengthens. A life is your space and time
and you recognize-- its boundary
approaches faster and faster.
All you might have done expands
beyond imagination and into that
scope and breadth you stare,
bewildered by the pastness of the past.
"the pastness of the past."
Beautiful poem.
"the pastness of the past" Chilling
Bewildered indeed. *

Thank you, Dianne.
Thank you, Ellie.
Wow...
Thank you, Kitty.
I like the tightness of the form: 3-3-3. Also, it has somewhat of a future, present, past structure to line up with the three tercets.
You said it. Very well.
