    I wish I could play surf guitar like Dick Dale and sing like Brian Wilson. On some days, I try singing in the shower. I am a diehard fan of 60s garage music.

    Why do you write?

    I wanted to do something big before I die. If I can't do something big, then I'll settle for something bigger than what I've been doing.

    Herman Melville, Julio Cortazar, Thomas Bernhard, Lynda Barry (favorite graphic novel: Cruddy), Adolopho Casares (The Invention of Morel)Paul Auster (City of Glass), Paul Bowles.
