The Depth of the Dust

Starts strong. The ending is not working as well for me, maybe too many is that the is of on it? The reading of it awkward to me.

I am still inclined to like it, though.

I was all prepared to like it completely, and then I read Frankie's comment and I went back and...lo, she is right, of course. This is how it must end -- not with a bang, whimper, simper or sigh, but: "What is the depth of the dust on it?" * (conditional)
