I am a freelance writer living in New York. My work can be found on Salon.com, Fictionique, The Celebrity Cafe, OpEd News, and Punchnel's. You can check out my blog at http://open.salon.com/blog/jaimefranchi and follow me on Twitter at JaimimiMama.
I write to let the stories out, to explain the world around me, to know more fully what I think. And because putting the right words together is a great joy.
My favorite book is Lolita. It was the first book that absolutely humbled me and made me want to put down the pen and consider just how masterfully this writing thing can be done. I love Toni Morrison and Maya Angelou, Pat Conroy and Richard Russo and the essays of Christopher Hitchens and David Sedaris.
Keep going Jaime!
Thank you so much for reading and commenting on my story 'Milkshake and Fries"
Hi Jaime! I appreciate your thoughts on "Someday". Your two words have me taking a new look at what I've done and what can be done. Your economy of words makes me yearn for a talent such as yours. Right to the point! Thank you for stopping by.
Thanks for reading and commenting on "Tongues." Cajuns have a beautiful cadence in their spoken language and I tried to listen for that as I read.
Thank you for your kind comments on my stories Pig Girl and The Miracle of My Father's Hat. I look forward to reading your work.
Thanks for the enthusiastic "Yeah!" on "Beginnings." Much appreciated.
Thanks, Jaime, for your kind words about 'Hints of the Blitz.' That's exactly what I was striving for.

Thank you for your comment on my piece. "The Sweet Spot(s)" are fantastic. I felt like I was sitting at a cafe', drinking coffee, listening to you speak only to me.
Jaime--Thanks so much for reading and commenting on "Forging." I really appreciate you saying you would read more. What more can a writer ask for?!
