First Law Blues
by Gary Hardaway
Energy is constant though it may manifest
as dust motes atop the housing of your monitor
and in the fibers of the filter of your fan coil unit
and gather with vapor of cooking grease
as a brown black residue on knick-knacks
not dusted for weeks and weeks
because, though energy may be constant,
it aggregates elsewhere and not within you.
The first law is remarkable. Speculaton about it is also a constant energy.
“and gather with vapor of cooking grease
as a brown black residue on knick-knacks
not dusted for weeks and weeks”
Energy materialized. Slick.
Hate those yucky knick-knacks. *
aint it the truth. nice one.
Nor me neither... *
Nice breath here, Gary. I like this poem. Good piece.
Good one, Gary. *
