Yes, the Tigers were quite a bunch. What a thrill to actually meet a real war hero. I recall those war years clearly, and it didn't look good for the U.S. for the first six months. And now the U.S. and Japan are good friends! Go figure.
Thanks for the read & * for my story, Myra. I appreciate it very much.
Thanks for reading, commenting on, and faving "The Proud Accounting," Myra. In terms of its meaning, it's based on a real event in my life, but I think whatever you take from it is legitimate.
Hello Myra! How are you? I've been away from fictionaut for a while, lots of catching up to do (my usual pattern!). Thanks for stopping by Flesh & Blood and your lovely comment.
Ah, Myra, Myra, MYRA!! Did not confuse you at all, just the names... sorry but as you say you are in excellent company! Broken Mirrors is still with me today -- I read some heavy stuff last night late, all of it so very good.
Myra, your comments and fav are very much appreciated. I had been wondering about the detailed descriptions and I'm encouraged to know it's "the right type of writing to bring out the hardness." Thanks.
Egon, Captain Ahab, and Sputnik enjoyed your poem, but it may have had something to do with the carrots that accompanied it. Whatever the case, they were wheeking with joy!
thanks so very much, Myra, for your comment and FAV on my flag day challenge story, X. "Riveting" is a very strong description -- needless to say, I am pleased. I really liked working all those x's in - I'm glad you find that the form works and that those ten X's are unobtrusive. THANK YOU, you are a dear!
Myra, Thank you for your lovely compliment on "This is how they were found". Looking forward to reading your work soon. The beginning of a new poetry series has been posted today. Enjoy.
Myra, Thanks for your endorsement of my latest post. The cat herding is going well. We lost one recently, but the rest of the herd is happy & healthy. Knock on wood.

Myra, Thank you for the welcome and the tip on how to respond when someone writes on my wall. You are so kind and I am indeed glad to be here!!! Thank you for your lovely words.
Myra, thanks so much for your read and sweet comments on Solitary. Yes, Poesia was a great little mag, it had spirit and was rebellious. I, amongst other poets, miss it
Myra, thank you so much for reading "Map to the Heart" and for commenting (and for the fav --- it was starting to feel lonely with 0 favs!). I struggle with determining if I am providing too much info or too little in my writing, so I was glad to have your feedback.
Myra, that is a beautiful name. I named a character after your name. I also like your horse. The horse looks curious. Thanks for the comments...And yes, I was right there with you. When my gradeschool teacher said "essay" I was the nerdy little girl with pig-tails who exclaimed, "Thank God!"
Myra - thanks for reading my new flash - new format for me, but looking back, some of my segments within longer works are similar, and that's the fact, !
Thanks for your comments on 'You' and 'Path,' Myra. I've been writing non-fiction lately, getting in touch with my academic side - hence my absence from fictionaut. Thanks for asking!
Myra, I will invoke the Robert Frost principle, then, which is that the writer is entitled to anything that the reader finds in the work. Maybe I'm smarter than I thought!
Myra, I think all I meant by "Mort kept on singing" was that he liked to be the center of attention, so he fended the other fellow off and sang! Now, don't you dare take away my fav! I'll go back there and sit there all night hanging onto it!
Thank you for reading my story, Myra. I appreciate it very much! I was just looking at your About Me section, and the work you are doing with and for the Light Horse Troop is really commendable. Looking forward to reading more of your work!
Thank you Myra, for your comment on "Halo 'round the moon." It's wonderfully strange to consider that ... while sleeping, someone on the other side of the planet is awake and reading what you've written.
Myra -- thanks for your appreciation of the ping-pong-ing in Rock On. I'm glad you liked it and gave it that big Fave! (Every now and then I climb out from under my rock and though I don't read the NYT or WSJ or LAT, I come to Fictionaut and see the light -- even if it's eff-ing bright out here). :)
Myra,
Thank you so much for the fav and your wonderfully supportive comments on An Italian Lunch. One of the beauties of fictionaut is receiving the comments, and having a chance to take ourselves and the work out of isolation, to see if it speaks to others. I so appreciate your reading!
Myra, Thank you so much for making contact and comenting on "Three as She Lay Sleeping"
I admire the fact that you donate to The RSL Creswick Light Horse Troop.
Thank you for reading and commenting on TWO FOR THE ROAD; I appreciate it. I've never posted like this, but apparently, it's the way it's done on Fictionaught. I usually just recip -- this seems like Advertisements For Myself.
Oh, you mean the unusually large, vicious, carnivorous koalas that inhabit treetops and attack their prey by dropping onto their heads from above. The ones I have just looked up on wiki? I wasn't familiar with them what with these alligators in the sewers and occasional Snipe sighting
Myra, thanks for seeing what I'd hoped would be seen in Folded Flower. And not surprising the dutch have a word for what i was feeling in Naive Melody, practitioners of pragmatic abandon that they are!
Myra! *BIG HUGS* Yes! Yes! YES! You are the first to comment on that vibe in Kamakaze Birdsongs & you are accurate!!!! It was actually a metaphor on the poor souls that jumped on 9/11.
Many thanks for the thoughtful comments and the fave on "And Then 1-3"! I especially appreciate your taking the time to read a long parts of a long piece.
Myra - thank you for reading my wacky Alpaca story. I am thrilled you saw the double entendre within the piece. The voice is in the southern US vernacular of the lower educated class we affectionatly dub - Redneck!
Myra - all antics forgiven, applauded and lauded, praised and alofted to the highest! Brilliant stroke, exactly in the spirit of 0favs! And thanks for reading Walking to School (and the dreaded fav)
Your encouragement has meant everything to me. As you know, I’m this concoction of self-doubt sandwiched between bluff and bravado. That inner critic will always be there but it’s great when someone enjoys my efforts.
Thank you for faving My Girl Friend's Birthday. I think an iron is a nice gift. However, my girlfriend would probably kill me if I bought one for her birthday.
I'm really pleased you liked the poem "Ferdinand Gets Married," Myra. There's a joke underlying this poem. Forgive me for explaining it! Perhaps it'll deepen (well, maybe not) your enjoyment of it.
The Ferdinand in the title is the Ferdinand from Shakespeare's The Tempest. In the play, he is betrothed to marry Miranda.
This poem is in the form of an officer reading a suspect his or her Miranda Rights.
Thus, in the poem Ferdinand is (wait for it) Mirandized!
Forgive me if the joke was obvious. I fear it is too complicated and obscure.
hoisted me by my own petard! whatever that means. I will remove :The Book from 0Favs. And thanks so much for your other comments this past week, been remiss, I've been pretty much trying to get VOICES going.

Myra, in response to your explanation, perhaps a word or two in that sequence could be changed/added for us readers that may not be familiar with that practice? My first thought was war, or an errant fireworks display - though I suppose it doesn't really matter, the direness comes through.
Myra, thanks for reading 'Driven Crazy' (having problems getting email alerts on comments, yours didn't arrive yet, 24 hrs later!) It was the main of the two, I threw the roach one in, why I don't know. Actually, the woman was obviously in her own world, not just a non-listener, and I enjoyed hearing her stream, though by the time I got off I had enough.
Thanks for reading and commenting on "Pie." The power of that voice has led me to take play writing workshops. I know they'll help with dialogue and story development. And I realized a big secret: there's a reason they call it "play"!
Thanks, Myra for comment on Poetipedia - I had a jolly good time doing it (idea came to me as I drifted to sleep after referencing Keats on Wiki) - if there is sadness underneath, perhaps?,then you have a better eye than I do.
