About Me

I am thejake. Not much else to say. I travel and I do the best I can with what I got.

The thing to remember is that you are not important. The world spins with or without you and your job is not the most important thing in your life. Enjoy your days off and fight to get more of them. Be spontaneous, call in sick and go skiing or go for a hike. Take that carribean trip you’ve been wanting to go on or that week in Paris. Maybe it’s a foreign language you’ve been dying to learn. Tell your boss you need two weeks off and go to a language school. Life is too short to be a normal american for very long and the world is getting smaller by the day. Go explore before every road is paved and every inch has been google earthed.

Walk the path less traveled as soon and as often as you can. Learn to find comfort in the uncomfortable.

There is an art to being alive and it doesn’t involve a nine to five.

Why do you write?

I am passionate about the open road. About living a life of freedom, without anchors to drag you down or hold you back. To live each new day in a new place whether it's just in your mind or there is foreign soil beneath your feet. This is my passion. To continuously experience new emotions, ideas, people and places.

Any favorite authors? Books?

I can not move past Twain. The man is a travel author of legendary proportions.
