  • About Me

I am the co-editor of Fractured West and reviews editor of PANK.

    Why do you write?

I'm inspired by misheard song lyrics, genderqueer, going on bad dates, art history, angry girls of all genres and eras, self-indulgent indie epics, being told what to do by old men in ugly jumpers, chunky coffee-table photography books, and the sea.

I write because it's the only thing I know how to do.

    Any favorite authors? Books?

I only read novelisations of computer games.

    Larry Strattner – Apr 06, 2011

Hey Kirsty - I think you mean 'peen' in your latest. Regards, Larry the Sheet Metal worker.

    Mary Lane – Feb 18, 2011

Lovely! I didn't know you were on here.

    Kait Mauro – Dec 10, 2010

Thank you so much for inviting me to Fictionaut last year, I can't tell you have much it has meant to me. :)

    Jane Hammons – May 20, 2010

Hey thanks for writing up Dreaming in Mink as a Fictionaut Fave. Your insight into the sensuous vs clinical worlds made me see it with new eyes.

    Todd Keisling – Apr 14, 2010

    Oh, hello.

    Sam Rasnake – Apr 14, 2010

Thanks for the words, Kirsty. I've been writing alot lately, but never post unpublished work to the general wall here.

You have a strong writing style. I always enjoy reading your work.

    Meg Pokrass – Apr 06, 2010

Thank you Kirsty, for your kind words about "Villa Monterey". Best, Meg

    A. Pseudonym – Apr 03, 2010

Gracias for the comment on "Until We Died," Kirsty.

    Jack Swenson – Mar 21, 2010

At least you like something in my story, Kristy. I love "All Night Cartoon Party."

    M.H. – Mar 21, 2010

Hi Kirsty - Love the photo :)

    David Erlewine – Mar 02, 2010

So glad to have you accept my invitation! Were I some ninnyish, insecure writer I'd make a crack about this being the first thing of mine you've accepted. Thank God I'm not "that guy" anymore.

In all seriousness, it's great to get you for the workshoppy group. There are so many fine writers/editors there. Between the Zoetrope Flash Factory and this group, I'm so full of great readers these days.

    Tina Barry – Mar 02, 2010

You're probably right about the timing. Will the online issue be posted at the same time? By the way, congratulations on all your publications. I see your name all the over the place. I loved the Elimae piece.

    Tina Barry – Mar 02, 2010

Hi Kirsty. Thanks for inviting me to join the group. Do you have a date yet for the first issue of FW? Can't wait to see it.

    Beate Sigriddaughter – Mar 02, 2010

    Zippety-doo-dah!
