It's that laugh of hers that gets me
(gets me every time)
like an electric shock it wakes me,
pounds me prattling into cohesion,
and with one look in her eyes
(those greenmarbled sunsets)
I know.
She sees the patterns no one else does,
the beauty of it all,
her words floating up and around
over me
over us
always beaming bright, that smile that laugh of hers
(those greenmarbled sunsets).

About a girl I know named Kate (she's fantastic).
This is a lovely poem, Robert :)
Wonderful lilting cadence, I really like this poem, Robert.

Wonderful poem. ...greenmarbled sunsets. If I were a thief, I'd grab that phrase, stick it under my coat, and run like hell.
Beautiful words, beautiful voice, beautiful Kate. And yes, those greenmarbled sunsets, also beautiful.
This is lovely. As Myra said, it has a lilting cadence. A lovely love poem that Van Morrison could sing.
Aw, thank you all. It's easy to write when you have inspiration. :)
