    Coordinated the Cervena Barva Press Reading series at the Pierre Menard Gallery, 10 Arrow St., Cambridge, MA. The series was at this place for 4 years. The gallery closed in April, 2011.

    Co-host and Co-coordinator: The First and Last Word Poetry Reading Series at The Center for the Arts Armory in Somerville, MA
    Readings are held once a month starting in January, 2011.

    Other Biographical Information:

    Published in numerous literary journals including Poet Lore, River Styx, Phoebe, Blackbox, Poesia, Bogg, Ibbetson, WHLR, UNU: Revista de Cultura, Citadela, Aurora, and Arabesques.
    From 1984-1994, Gloria was editor of the Boston Literary Review/BLuR. She has been nominated for a Pushcart Prize, St. Botolph Award, and was awarded a fellowship from the Massachusetts Cultural Council distributed by the Somerville Arts Council. Gloria currently works as a Social Worker and freelances teaching poetry workshops and editing manuscripts.
    Co-founded and managed Theatre S. & S. Press, Inc. from 1984-1994. Literary adaptations of novels, original plays, musicals, operas etc... Grants from the Rockefeller Foundation, Globe Foundation, Polaroid, New England Foundation for the Arts, Massachusetts Cultural Council, and the Somerville Arts council. Acted, wrote text, and sang in many of the productions produced. Gloria is lucky enough to have perfect pitch.

    Why do you write?

    I have a strong theatre/performing background which fuels my creativity. Also a very strong network of writer friends.

    When I read good poetry or fiction, it makes me want to write.
    There is nothing like a good book.
