  • About Me

My writings have appeared in Cricket Magazine, Point South, The Wilderness House Literary Review, Wisdom Magazine, Umph Magazine and Bagel Bards Anthology #4. My W.B. Mason TV commercials appear in every Red Sox, Yankees and Phillies baseball game. My novel, "Or So It Seems", has been called “A rollicking spiritual page-turner!” My latest effort, “How to Train A Rock”, offers the best stories, essays and flights of fancy from a column I wrote on-and-off for 25 years. Additionally, I’ve been a creative director in advertising, an environmental and human rights activist and a dime store philosopher. I happily abide in Cambridge, Massachusetts with my beautiful wife Amy, and we summer on a pond in Plymouth. I'm a proud member of the Bagel Bards, a group of writers (mostly poets) who meet Saturday mornings in a Somerville Au Bon Pain.

    Why do you write?

Writing is my calling and thus, apparently, non-negotiable. I write because I am a writer. My Muse will not have it any other way. For the last few years I've focused more on my publishing enterprises (P.O.D.'ing my own writings) than on creating new work, but all that is about to change as I embark on a new novel and, perhaps, restart my column, "A Stone's Throw."

    Any favorite authors? Books?

Mark Twain, Raymond Chandler, P.G. Wodehouse, John Irving, Michael Connelly, Nick Hornsby, Robert Goddard, O'Henry, Robert Louis Stevenson, Charles Dickens, Lee Child

Pride and Prejudice, War and Peace, The Adventures of Sherlock Holmes, Or So It Seems, Life On The Mississippi, Mark Twain's Autobiography, Dracula, Nicholas Nickleby, Shane, The Poet, The Enemy
