I am a 29 year old, Caucasian male of Anglo-Saxon descent writing in a language also of Anglo-Saxon descent. I do NOT like raw oysters.
Update: My wife and I are blogging about our life and impending baby. That sounds too negative. Our looming baby. Our baby. Check us out at "Life in the Garden."
Fresh dew on the spiny green leaves of the conifers that surround my mom's farm house; the sparkle my niece gets in her eye the second I finish reading her favorite book, just before she asks, "Again?"; the fact that when they had to move my grandfather to the assisted living side of the retirement home, my grandmother would wheelchair herself all the way across the complex each day just to watch him sleep.
Also, my wife points out that she's been a huge inspiration in my writing life. :) But seriously, I would be living in a box somewhere if weren't for her. An upscale box, but a box nonetheless.
Amy Hempel, J. D. Salinger, Flannery O'Connor, Donald Barthelme, C. S. Lewis, Chaucer, Kafka, the New Testament...those are the heavy hitters.
Thanks for reading and commenting on My Children in Times New Roman. I look forward to reading your work here.
Oh, Amy Hempel, yuh-huh! I always come back to her.
Thanks for the comment on facing the Music Steve! Right on with the oysters. And write on with the stories!
