About Me

My name's Joey. I'm a nurse by day and an amateur reader and writer by night. I love scribbling nonsense on legal pads and I tend to read fiction that leans towards the supernatural side of things. I can't wait to share some of my nonsense with you all, and I can't wait to read all the wonderful Fictionaut posts.

Why do you write?

Nothing fuels my creativity more than reading a good story, seeing a good movie, or hearing a great song. Sometimes I read a good sentence and immediately put down the book and pick up a pen. Sometimes I write. Sometimes I don't.

I write because I enjoy it. I like to see what I can do with a sentence, if I can tell a good story. Sometimes I can't. Sometimes I can.

Any favorite authors? Books?

I love reading Stephen King during the summer. I enjoy Ron Rash's Serena. I read Norman Partridge's Dark Harvest every Halloween. I like graphic novels (okay, comics) and I like to read some memoirs and biographies. There's more, but I can't think of them at this moment.
