Monet Clouds
by Tim G. Young
The Monet clouds
stare back at me
sitting in the Arizona silence
Little red rocks
make up the lawn
birds hide in trees
My breath is even and slow
the slow stretches
across the horizon
The painter makes choice
of his blue carefully
as the rest especially with broad strokes
Thoughts as imperceptible
as shadows soft cake
in the sky
My ears now tightly knit
gatherer each sound
strained for the melody
Melody tracing the silence
like tears welled up
ready to drop
Yet with everything
there is emptiness
deeper than oceans and space
Deeper than the quiet
of Monet clouds
painted like blush
on the cheeks of heaven
rosy and full of life
Yet with everything
there is emptiness
deeper than oceans and space.
Very vivid and thought provoking. ***
Thanks so much Tara.
Thanks for transporting me. Now I need to head out that way. *
Love this.*
Many thanks Mathew and Amanda. It's the quiet that gets me.
Feels like I'm standing right there with you. And that last verse, wow! Wonderful. *
Thanks Joey. Stand with me!
A beautiful snapshot.

Thank you Darryl.

Nice!
Gorgeous and so moving.*
Very much appreciated, Bill and Brenda.
*"the slow stretches across the horizon," is a phrase I will memorize to keep close, Tim.
Carries then finishes nicely. In the realm of poetry often I can only nod there and there. Much the same with music where cheers can spoil the artist
Very good. Reminds me a bit of Wallace Stevens and William Carlos Williams.
I'm quite late with this but many thanks to Nonnie, Vekaro, and Iain.
