Angela, don't cry, they are never worth it. You will see that clearly in a few months time. Thanks for reading this, etc, and I will be thinking of you.
Angela, that's right, the whole gang is nuts in that household in my "cold cuts" story, even more so than Chenille. Thanks so much for your read and comments!
Hey, thanks for the comment on "Though the Heart be Still as Loving". It was intended to be horrific and funny at the same time, and I'm curious to see which side wins out.
Angela, so great to see your comments about "Vague Obscenities." Glad the story hit you the right way. I can't empathize at all with the narrator, thankfully, ha ha.
Keep writing, girl. You don't need an MFA or a bunch of professors to validate what you do. Writing comes from within you--like lava, draw from that energy every day and make them eventually realize ('cause it takes time) what they missed.
Hey Angela, I'm so happy to get your comments on my Pogo the Clown story. May we each forget that book before we get too old (you have a lot more time to try than me). Growing up as a kid, two books influenced me the most - "Shark Attack" and a serial killer book about Henry Lee Lucas. I still think of the Shark book every time I get in water (even a pool).
I lived in Kansas City, MO as a kid and then later in Kansas (near Overland Park). Spent a lot of time in Jeff City, California (Mo.) and St. Louis a few years ago (my then gf had family in JC and California, MO.
About Bukowski:everytime I hear someone put him down I quote certain passages from Mockingbird to shut them up. He was what he was but out of that came beauty and truth and originality like no other. As far as the rest of your people I've certainly read enough Elizabeth Bishop to last a lifetime but adore Mary Gaitskill to the max.Welcome aboard.
I called you "Angels." I meant Angela! (Cool mistake though!)
Thanks, so much, Angels, for commenting on "Disappearing Ink." Thank you also for the fave.

Hey thanks so much for your comments on three shorts. That pie will love you forever :)
For my part, I'm always careful to ask myself, if I become less narcissistic who will be left to love me?
Cheers, LS
