Rebecca thank you so much for your comment about "Elizabeths". I started that story (gulp) 15 years ago not long after discovering Amy Hempel. It was a beginning and kind of a mess. I left it alone (not intentionally) for 15 years and just found it a few weeks ago, it needed a lot of reworking and editing but it is a favorite for this reason. I suppose it was my first flash piece. You are so kind for saying what you did:) xo
I used to be Quenby, Rebecca. I think maybe we were facebook friends when I was Quenby - ? Your brilliant Dorothy Parker piece made me realize I'm missing you among my friends. I feel I instantly bonded with you over the Parkerhouse rolls.
thanks for yer comment, rebecca ... if you can read a story again not knowing this could mean it's forgettable or it has embedded itself in your unconscious. i pick the latter ;-)
hi rebecca, thank you for your kind words on my fungus. no, that didn't come out right. you know what i mean. especially if you wrote about anna freud, i am in deep trouble now. truth is i LOVE anna freud (i love anything freudian) and i must get your book when it comes out. and we have something else in common: i also live on oxygen. the other thing, the love, comes from folks like you. thanks!
thanks for reading "under the apple tree". much appreciated. the tin man thanks you, too.
