Why do you write?

Enjoyment, purely for pleasure at the moment. Its exhilarating some days, when you feel you've painted a picture still warm and smelly, with all the deep, dank shades (the lemon-florid lights) of your mind... I have given up on placing life on the page... it's beyond me. It's too gigantic and inexplicable. But I have these dreams that might be comparable; that's what's the fuel, if I had to pick something.

Some years / later

Well still I scribble in these empty journals till they're pooling, and I must say the motivation is to simply get better, if that isn't circuitous enough. Perhaps in the deepest level of my subconscious it satisfies some deep holy, burning mechanism
