About Me

I think of myself as: writer, gardener, mother, wife.

My work has appeared at Tin House, Wigleaf, HTML Giant, The Rumpus, Anobium, and elsewhere.

I was born in Korea, grew up in the suburbs of New York City. I live now in Rhode Island in an old Victorian house (that was once quite grand) that overlooks the highway. I like to imagine that the noise of the traffic below is the sea.

Why do you write?

I think I am trying to make meaning out of chaos.

Any favorite authors? Books?

Hi Mary-Kim. I'm flattered that you found and read "Float to Water," and bestowed it with a star. Happy to have you at Fictionaut.

Welcome! Thanks for commenting on my stories, and yes, I know all about The Mountain Goats. I saw them (him) play here (Seattle) a few months ago (February, I think). I wouldn't be surprised if "No Children" being woven into my subconscious helped drive the words that made that story. Welcome to Fictionaut! :)
