The World is Bigger
by Jill Chan
It is best not to judge.
Everyone believes in their own version
of reality.
One person's inadequacy
is another's impatience.
Sometimes it is insurmountable
even to know
a name, a country.
Impossible to tell the difference
between a name
and the way we know it.
A country?
Well, we live in the same country
but don't realise it.
The world is bigger
for the ways it disregards
its inhabitants.
The bombs everywhere inside us,
finding reasons
for us to stay
peaceful, alone, stateless.
"The world is bigger"
So true. Well said.
BOOM! This: "The bombs everywhere inside us, finding reasons for us to stay peaceful, alone, stateless."
Thank you Erika, and Mathew. So much.
"The bombs everywhere inside us,
finding reasons
for us to stay
peaceful, alone, stateless."
Love these lines. ***
"The world is bigger
for the ways it disregards
its inhabitants."
So true. *
Thank you, Rachna, and Charlotte. Much appreciated.
Astute and right bang to the heart of the matter.
Thank you once again, Darryl. :) And thank you to the one who faved this.
Provocative. What Charlotte and Rachna said.
Like especially: "The bombs everywhere inside us,/
finding reasons/" The poem explodes with quiet effectiveness inside & out.
Thank you for the encouraging words, Kitty, and Ed.
"The bombs everywhere inside us"
Yes.
peaceful, alone, stateless.
This is what I strive for.*
Thank you Bill, and Tim. :)
