by Jerry Ratch
I was bleeding from the soul
It took its toll
I fell all the way down in a hole
I saw some burning coal
I didn't know where the hell I was
Or what went wrong
As I sang some unholy song
Where I did not belong
There was a frozen carcass
In the basement of mankind
Where everything and everyone
Was accidentally left behind
I was just a bearded lamb
That's all I was down under
That's what I am
Just a one word wonder
A bearded lamb
A bearded lamb
That's all I was
That's all I am

poem, song lyrics
Intriguing lines (lyrics?).
"bearded lamb" is a reference I don't know. When I first saw the title I thought it was a kind of wildflower. Maybe I'm not supposed to know and that's okay. The feeling is clear. :-)
I'm not sure but once you fall into a hole, things change.*
Go ask Alice. I think she'll know.
"I was bleeding from the soul"
Fabulous opening line!
I can hear this sung. "bleeding from the soul." great image. *
Starts with a bang. *
