They've thrown the painter in the trash upside down with his red pajamas and feet sticking up in the air, with his shoes on. The large red hand of judgement pointing at him, that gives us direction and law and shame, gives us a large red headache.
While the head of the KKK stands by for the next order, ready to mete out punishment, and smoking a cigar. And they already threw the painter in the trashcan. Who's next!

Great rendering in verse of a Guston painting. That's exactly the way the cigar worked for him, it's the bit that sticks in your head right after the comma.
Quirky and intriguing. I had to look up Guston. Never heard of him. Wow! I've been missing out!
