Life's tattoos imprinted in a 55-word story.
Illustration: the indomitable Manx cat.
This story has no tags.
We do wear the experiences of our life on our skin, and the trick is to keep getting up again.
Amazing story, Frank. So true to life and it feels close to the bone.
Big fave.

Nice, Frank!
Yer mama should have bought you brass knuckles. And I like any story with a cat in it.
Ditto what Jack said.
Kim, Mata, Christian, many thanks for your comments, and the faves!
Jack, James, there’s too much violence in the world. If boxing gloves, not unlike punching pillows in a doc’s office, can soften the blows, I’m all for that. Many thanks for your comments, faves, and I’ve been meaning to ask you, Jack - where do I get a helmet similar to yours? Instead of horns, I want one that’s fashionably Canadian – with moose antlers. :)
Wonderful phrasing form, Frank. Good piece. Especially like the closing: "wherever I am thrown, I still stand" Yes.
Oooo, I really like this. Agree with Sam, last line is really great.
This little piece has a great flow to it. Fave.
excellent, frank. great ending. manly piece, powerful.
Frank, I got my helmet when I was out pillaging one day in the old country. Never seen one with moose antlers, but I'll keep a lookout.
Unassailably good.

Yes, great end to this. Enjoyed.
Fun use of the prompt... and a fascinating autobiography in 55 words.
I like how you point out the tattoos, but what is most interesting is how they tie a life together.
Super use of the prompt and word count. Amazing little life. Peace *
Nice work, Frank, it really moved me in so few words. Well chosen words
Very nice, and really makes me want to know more about this character.
This is a mean right hook of a story, Frank. Couldn't resist.
I love the honest emotion in this, I felt it.

Love how the last line brings us back round to the first. Full circle. *
Loved the simplicity and hopefulness and inner strength in this piece! Fave!
