I'm taking her hat off, in the rain, her hair spills like spinach all the way down to her backpack, the top pocket where the bowl and the cinnamon estrange themselves from the coffee.
We left the beach before the frost came, before the hills bothered to invent a snowy vista, like a poster in a salt-bitten bar.

Author's Note
It wouldn't be entirely inaccurate to say I don't have an idea in my head. My poems almost always speak through the voices of other characters--mythological, historical, biblical--because they have something to say. I don't. So prompt words are a real boon to me, the alphabet blocks for a mindless writer. Thanks again to Meg's words.
Whether you wrote this or some mythical unicorn wrote it, it's good.
i agree with Matt, it is something else, a unicorn certainly wrote it and it feels perfectly nestled so.
