About Me

I breathe; I eat; I get songs stuck in my head.

I wasn't really born on All Fools' Day, but I think that would have been cool. Don't you?

Why do you write?

Too addicted to quit. Doctor says it probably won't kill me.

Any favorite authors? Books?

People named William, such as Shakespeare, Burroughs, and Gibson. Raymond Chandler. Hunter S. Thompson. Philip K. Dick for his ideas if not always his execution. Lately I'm working on an addiction to the short stories of Patricia Highsmith and Joyce Carol Oates. I like stuff that unsettles me so subtly that maybe I don't even notice it at the time.

Perennial comfort reading: The Wind in the Willows and the first two of Sue Townsend's Adrian Mole diaries.
