Yes, what good? *
With the sting of irony in your title, a punch in the gut.
"a lifetime of being good, righteous
what good did it do?"
Grief and purpose and regret and tragic moments all merge in closing lines. The answer is endless and unreachable but the question remains necessary.
Strong work in these few lines. ***
Sam said what I also feel. Strong poem. *
We need to see this.*

I lost my comment, didn't send it. Anyway, I enjoyed your poem, Kitty. I must say I wondered about "being good" a whole lifetime... It must be rare.
Thank you all from the bottom of my heart: Beate,Matt, Sam,Bill, Tim, Jenny and Erika. Stay safe, stay sane, keep writing! :)
Confident writing. And rightly so.
Thank you, Dianne.
Precise and powerful.
Thank you, Gary.
Erika, "being good a whole lifetime" was a collective thought. Most people are good, righteous. We all do bad things. I prefer to think of people as being more ignorant than hurtful.
