by Jerry Ratch
The man who was fired from a thousand jobs
a girl named Calorie
flashes of self-image
in shallow waters
I had no idea what it meant
but now I see it all adds up
It's like a self-portrait by Vincent van Gopher
It's a mole on the forehead of the sky
It's an epiphany of the young
Same trailer, different park
Suddenly everything is delaminating
People are popping right off
the surface of humanity
I am coming loose from my previous lives
There are over 200 religions in the world
not one true believer
and I feel like a sacrilegious goose

"I am coming loose from my previous lives"
Me too, brother...
"...everything is delaminating". I like that. *
A wild ride. *
*"People are popping right off the surface of humanity"—I'm going to pretend that I wrote that for the rest of the day, okay?
*, Jerry. The title nails the poem's basis. Well done.
"Same Trailer, Different Park"
