by Jerry Ratch
I know I'm in the sky all night
And can lie back and sometimes have some fun
But these stars around me aren't everything in life
I still miss the sun
After your first lover threw you back
Into the frozen ocean of life
You never came back to shore for more
Did you? Did you?
It may be that the voice of the turtle is
Only heard in the dream land where you come from
And not mine anymore
But still, I miss the sun
When I was taken up here to the sky
I found my heart was broken nearby
So, I reached over and touched it
And that was when it came back to life
And it began beating on its own
As if someone else now owned it
Well, I'll tell you what it's like up here
There's a sudden burst of color, like the dispersal of a ghost
And now candy wrappers are scattered all over the heavens
It looks like God got lit up by the sky
As we flew too close to His face
In a thunderstorm nearby
And I know I'm in the sky all night
And can lie back and sometimes have some fun
But these stars around me aren't everything in life
And I still miss the sun
I still miss the sun
I still miss the sun

Thanks, Foster!
Fun poem, Jerry. I was missing the sun myself this morning, and by gum she came out this afternoon!
Thanks, Matt. Take care.
