I miss the blossoming of daffodils again this year- the burning thrusts of yellow in defiance of the frost that almost always comes and leaves the yellow a bruised brown and slimy mess.
Ours in SE Virginia are blooming like crazy, along with the crazy weather--70 one day, 28 the next. Afraid the daffy's might grow up with adjustment issues.
Well, Gary, you've reminded me to look quickly, cuz daffodils aren't in bloom on my farm yet--but lots of green spears say "the burning thrusts
of yellow" will be arriving soon.
I read this to my husband and we both laughed out loud.

We have cabin fever, I think.
Thank you, Dianne.
Thank you, Matt.

Thank you, Beate.
Everything seems to come up during the wrong season. Too early warmth followed by too late cold. Good observation.
Daffodils... Yes. Lovely yellow. Never mind the bruising.
Thank you, Erika.
Not a big fan of yellow. Except for daffodils
And probably a new yellow Corvette! *
Thank you, Tim.
Nice, Gary. I used to grow about 250 varieties...they are resilient!
Thank you, Kitty.

Over here the frost didn't harm the daffs at all. You must have some sissy-baby daffodils.
Thank you, Gita. Sissy-baby is a special Texas variety of daffodils.
