A Jovial Saturday Sight
by Gary Hardaway
No twinkle- so, planet, not star.
And bright, so either Venus
or Jupiter. I'm guessing, Jupiter.
We have our artificial eyes on you,
great one, Juno orbiting as I write.
Welcome, then, most enormous Jupiter-
failed star, gas giant, mammoth mystery,
largest neighbor not the sun.
Hail! May we someday
understand you, fully. And respect you
for what you are and not as a disappointment
based on what we imagined you to be.
Wisdom almost thrown away, but no less for that.
Jumpin' Jupiter, I love this!!
Thank you, David.
Thank you, Matt.
Nice tribute to Jupiter.
Thank you, Erika.
Party!
Thank you, Smiley.
You don't miss a trick, do you? *
Thank you, Gita.
We may be looking at our reflection there Gary . . .
Thank you, Amantine.
By Jove *
Thank you, Beate.
I just love this, reminds me of my many nights spent looking up *
Thank you, Foster.
Gary: I like, and this is good.
To speak of single lines: might the final line cite "desire" (volitional depth enhanced) rather than "imagined" (which works though with less force)? --something like:
"of desperate desires we've had for you" ? --if this conforms to your vision.
Thank you, Edward.
Size is good.
Thank you, David.
Thanks. I love Jupiter. Read that one could fit almost 1300 earth size planets into monster Jupiter.! *
Thank you, Tim.
