I know Bill started a place for this, but I love to read about everyone's triumphs, and I'm too lazy to go to a group and sift every time. The forum is a good spot to congratulate people regularly, and since Matt Dennison is no longer here to create this thread, I'll do it. Please post pubs. and other good writerly news here.
While I have nothing new to report, I did want to say I, too, like the idea of sharing good news here. It's the difference between sitting around the kitchen table and saying "Hey, you guys, guess what happened to me today." and having to go to the library and read about "my family" on a bulletin board. Besides, it's a nice break from all the fighting happening in the GF lately.
You know I love you desperately, Bill, but I do like this better.
Hey, guys, I don't take your desire to talk and share in the forum as a personal affront at all. Go for it. Whatever works for you.
I'll keep the 2011 Publications group up as a collective place for 2011 work. Everyone is welcome to list, post, and publicize work and accomplishments there.
Let happiness reign!
Wow, Bill. How kind and gentlemanly of you.
Is it the Prozac, the Xanax or a liquid refreshment? Thanks for being such a nice guy. . .
"How kind and gentlemanly of you."
Put in a good word for me with my wife!
Okay, I will. Along with my position at THIS Literary Magazine, I have also accepted an offer to edit the poetry submissions at Connotation Press alongside Kaite Hillenbrand and Mari L'Esperance. I am so excited about this new position, and I hope to read many fine pieces sent from my Fictionaut family.
Joani,
Good to hear someone else recognizes what creative and talented person you are! Well done!
This is excellent news. Should be trumpeted. Congratulations, Joani!
That's great, Joani.
< starting up a Joani Reese Fan Club.
Thank you, my fine, feathered friends. I hope you'll wing some work my way. I appreciate you.
Very nice, Joani!
Thanks, Susan. Hope to see some of your work come into my in box soon.
I haven't been focusing enough on my writing this summer but I have been putting in quite a bit of effort here: kaitmauro.4ormat.com . I am trying to think of ways to allow my writing and my photography to work off of one another, a cross-pollination of sorts.
Hi All - In addition to posting links to published works and other successes, please feel free to contact me and I'll include news in our Front Page column :)
Thx,
Marcelle

Spilling Ink Awards
Congratulations to BILL LANTRY for being Short Listed for "Origins" and to GILL HOFFS for her Honorable Mention for "Firework Sand" in the Spilling Ink Short Story Awards!
Matthew and Linda-- Big congratulations on your publications. Many more to come!
Thank you MaryAnne! July's been a banner month for me, writing-wise. Not sure why, a lot of things have just clicked with a lot of people and I'm incredibly happy about it. Usually I get about 1 acceptance a month or something else fun like a letter published or article. This month I got 10 yes'es. August has got a lot to live up to! But this morning another book jumped into my head and I'm desperate to get it onto the page, so more submissions may need to wait till after the first draft's out.
Anyway, here are the links - though my work isn't yet up on all of them, they're well worth a look for the other great people involved:

Thank you all for your advice, help, good wishes and support.
p.s. - congratulations to Bill, JP, Matthew, Linda, Kait, and everyone else who has had good fun writing in July. Let the words flow and your cheeks glow with happiness, warmth, and wit!
Congratulations to Linda, WF, Gill, Matthew - and again to Joani.
Congrats on the new poetry position, Joanie! And to all the great news of acceptances, congrats! What a great summer it has been!
I have two poems featured at Camroc Press Review. I think they're about thirst and sand and sex. Stanley Fish might disagree. http://www.camrocpressreview.com/
My short 'FLORIDA" has just been posted at Left Hand Waving
Congrats, Bobbi. Going to read now...
Just got word that my short story, "Curb Appeal", has been accepted for publication in the September issue of Bluestem Magazine online quarterly (http://www.bluestemmagazine.com/). I also have the option to record an audio file of my work. Very exciting news!
Although I have already had an acceptance, this will technically be the first appearance of my work, since the other is an annual print publication.
Congratulations, Ann! I look forward to reading that when it comes out!
So, I'm new here, but right before I joined, I received my first acceptance as well!
It's too soon to publish the story here, but if anyone would like to read it, here's the link:

It's under the "Lucid Fiction" section. So far I love this website, been made to feel very welcome, though I find myself a little intimidated by the sheer talent throughout FN so far. But that's a good thing. :)
Ann and Matthew--How exciting for you both. May these be the start of a long string of successful publications. Congratulations!
Just this morning, a new flash piece of mine was electronically-stamped onto Postcard Shorts (http://www.postcardshorts.com/read-742.html). It has also been added, at this very moment, to my FN page.
I have also had an acceptance at 100 Word Story (http://www.100wordstory.org/). That piece is scheduled to be a part of their August issue, which I assume will appear online within the next couple of weeks.
Having previously been notified by The Toucan Magazine that they are publishing my short story "The Love Tap" and my poem "Sex With Strangers" in their Winter edition, they also let me know on Saturday that my poem "Neon" will be appearing in their Fall edition on October 1st.
Many thanks to Liz and Laura!
Will provide links when editions come out.
