When the Well Runs Dry
by Tim G. Young
what do they mean when the well runs dry
the sky begins to cry
the wind blows high
when there's nothing left on the table and
the horse that could have won the race
never left the stable
when the spinning wheel stops to go round
and the world stops spinning
such a crazy sound
and little jimmy buys a bus ticket
but never leaves town
and the moon shines on like a silver dollar
and coyotes in the desert scream and holler
while the murder victim on TV dies in squalor
and if there ain't one last chance left to live
and there ain't one last dollar left to give
and all the heroes have just fell off the cliff
then it must all mean something
but I don't know what it is
The cadence, the cadence...it's coming. (wonder if it's possible to have an apocalypse without zombies?) *
All things are possible. Thanks Mathew.
Musical.
Thanks Gary. Sometimes my lyric writing carries over.
Musical indeed. Enjoyable *
Me either. Good work.*
Emily an Amanda, thanks so much. I'm glad you're seeing the music in this.
