Why We Need To Keep Writing

We need to keep writing
because the great ones
aren't always that great
We need to keep writing
to insure that the future
even has a future
We need to keep writing
because the wind won't know how
or when to listen if we don't
We need to keep writing
to allow the finger to point
and let the hidden dreams come out
We need to keep writing
We need to keep writing
because they are making plans
to stop up our mouths
We need to keep writing
because otherwise we
won't know how to speak
to ourselves
We need to keep writing
Entire forests fall around our ears
when we are not listening
so we need to keep writing
Whole herds stand still in the oceans
waiting for us to discover
the truth about ourselves
while we aren't listening
and that is the reason
we need to keep writing
