Finally he painted his own chair, maybe because no one would sit for him anymore (after he cut off a piece of his own ear.) The chair centered and framed so that one leg of it reached down to the bottom of the painting, seeming to be skewed a little, outward, as if it had been squashed or sat on too hard, too fast, or too much.
The artist's pipe and pack of tobacco set on the straw seat. A blue door rising to the right behind it. Red tiles on the floor. And in the background to the left, a large box of onions, with the signature Vincent on its side, in red.
