Dead Tom, at the Side of the Road
The dead turkey's wife, or lover
Watching over his recent roadkilled carcass
Seeming to be mourning her loss
These are some BIG turkeys too
Tom was twice her size, almost
She was upset, you could tell, as if she was trying to
Convince him to get back up again
Looking all around her, in disbelief

Thanks, Matthew!
Elephants grieve like that. It's sad to think of the turkey. Death is unbelievable to humans as well.
Thanks, Gloria!
