Erin Hoffmeyer Zulkoski.
I was at work today, doodling on a piece of scrap paper. I often find myself writing my name, practicing my signature, for when I become famous.
I have always written "Erin Zulkoski." Today, I wrote "Erin Hoffmeyer." This simple act of going back to my maiden name was...well, it was invigorating and scared me shitless. He's been gone from my life, from my house, from my bed for almost five months now. Nothing of him is left with me, except my last name, oh, and a random pair of gloves I found today, but that's beside the point. The point is, these eight letters are his and I'd like to give them back to him.

I liked this. I also liked the bio. I smiled at this and laughed twice during the bio. Cheers.
I like this piece.
But start here. "I have always written "Erin Zulkoski." Makes it more of a whole piece. You don't need that other intro stuff, IMO.
The title is fun but doesn't do this justice. I like "Practicing My Signature" as a possible title.
Please forgive these forward suggestions!
Good one, Erin. Liked it. -- * Q
Nice, Erin. Liked it very much. *
Nice one, Erin!
Larry, Quenby, Kim, and Christian--thank you!
Bill--thank you for the suggestions, forward or not. I appreciate any and all comments. Thanks everyone.
Ha, yes I like this very much. It makes the difficult seem almost (almost) fun!
Thanks, Matt; although "difficult" and "fun" are rarely used in the same sentence :)
I do this too! Practice my signature ...
:)
You are lovely, no matter what your name is.
With names the lengths of yours, you get a lot of signature practice (I know!). I loved this piece, "oh, and a random pair of gloves." *
There's a real tenderness, a sigh of loss and resignation and looking forward. In such a a compact space takes skill.
