In January 2014 my story, "Go Long," won first place out of over 600 entries in the Tuscon Book Festival literary contest. Other recent writing awards include a fiction writing grant from the Maryland Arts Council and a novella award from St. Andrews Press, which published my novella, Bernardo the Daredevil. I've won fellowships to Bread Loaf and Ragdale and elsewhere and placed high in a Glimmer Train contest and been nominated for a Pushcart Prize. A list of some of my stories published online is below:

I'm lucky enough to be married to a wonderful doctor which allows me to be a house husband for our children (7 and 6), and which gives me time to write. Currently I'm finishing a draft of a novel and working on short stories.
