Fantasy Wiring

In the mechanics of the fantasy, it is essential that the wiring is maintained, all circuits working, every current flowing with the precise measurements, lest the system malfunction and the world completely lost. The engineers are constantly abuzz, constantly understaffed and overworked, tightening screws that routinely come loose under the current's pressure and taking samples for testing. The nurse's office is always near full capacity, filled with exhausted engineers whose eyes have dulled and fried from staring at the neon fluorescent stream for hours at a time, always watching for the slightest of changes, watching to ensure that all lights stay on, that the fantasy continue.
