Mean Time
by David Ackley
an errant clock strikes eleven,
unwinds second from second
No shelf or sink
mediates this mean ticking
between now and them.
I meant then.
This mean time
passing then to when,
"then" all inconsequence:
"like it matters, now."
And after? As if.
Call this mean time?
Just wait.
"I meant then." *
Mean and lean.*

Great word play.

Enjoyed.
Yep.*
thanks, all, for your suitably economical comments. The read is all, and always appreciated.
