by Barry Basden
Old man I thought I'd never be one. But now when I
look at my ragged face in the mirror, I'm surprised
at my life and how quickly it's slipped from youth to dotage.
I'm a lot wiser now but so what? Today, I'm wishing
like you were that I could do it over again. Same mistakes, same regrets:
Just to be young one more time.

Another one of those gray days...
Perfect little piece that blurs boundaries exquisitely.
Fave, Barry. I really enjoy the structure here, expressing the views of everyman. Reading the left sidebar vertically summarizes this poem for me:
"Old man look at my life I'm a lot like you were"
nicely constructed.*

Stop reading my mind! Great design and use of the song. It's like found art with something special added. Fave.
Really like what you did with the lines. It's like two poems in one, a reflection glanced through a mirror.Fave.
