We're going to talk about our future in cassette tapes. We're going to talk about our future like the Rick Dees Weekly Top 40. Like there are 40 great songs this week about our future. Like there are great songs about how I will wait for you and untether you and then glitter bomb the shit out of our loneliness. Great songs about the things I will miss when you leave me like:
doo- wop-doo-wop-doo-wop,
put your head on my shoooooooooulder,
won't you come home tonighttttttt.
There is gold being recorded inside your bones on the radio. Gold is being recorded in a studio inside your anatomy like slow thunder. We're laying on our backs and stealing love from the ceiling. Put that cassette on again. Play it again.

Everything in my life is relatable to music. Rick Dees was pretty much my best friend in primary school.
"put your head on my shoooooooooulder, "
Pet Sounds?
I'm not sure I understand your comment. Sorry. It's a line from a Paul Anka song in the 60s.
"There is gold being recorded inside your bones on the radio."
Enjoyed the piece.
I was trying to guess the album that lyric was from.
There's a song in that album called "Don't Talk (Put Your Head on My Shoulder)".
In any case, I like the idea of song titles superseding dialogue. It's aware of the idea (to me) that nothing is original and simultaneously self-aware. Interesting.
Wild and crazy. Lots of fun. *
Amanda - Ahhhh! haha Now I get it! My parents listened to that song constantly when I was growing up. It's the only Anka song I think I know!
Nothing is original. Nope. That's exactly it.
Thanks Jake!
