I've entered First Shot in Amazon's new Kindle Scout contest. It's Jeff Bezos's brilliant strategy to test market viability before his editors or their assistants--or THEIR assistants--have to apply a single eyeball to a submitted word.
Each submission has a month to garner "nominations", whereupon Kindle Press promises to publish those that show promise, presumably in the vein of a Shades of Gray or The Martian, i.e. votes over literary insight.
First Shot went live this morning: http://tinyurl.com/n4gavr7
Your two clicks--one on the above link, the other on the blue "nominate" button under First Shot's blurb--can make the difference between dignity and crushing defeat. Have I told you lately how much I love you?
Done. Good luck, Mathew!
Best Wishes, Mathew. Done.
Done. Though Amazon marketing ploys made it difficult.
Thanks, friends. I had planned to send this to Tyrus, a small reputable North Carolina publishing house, but they've closed submissions temporarily.
Done. Good luck!
Done.
Done. Did you know that people who liked your book also liked two others, one of them something about a hummingbird?
Done, best of luck with this, Mathew!
Much gratitude, youse guys. I nominated one book other than mine--the Hummingbird one. The author's Australian and I loved what she said in her little bio, how "laughter and gratitude can keep me from the ledge."
Done. Good luck. (I have to say you're already legitimate.)
I tried to Matthew but US residents only! Good luck, and you have my nomination if they say you only needed one more!
Thanks, John. Well, I *was* allowed to join Fictionaut. I guess what I'm after is having Maureen Corrigan read something I've written--whether she likes it or not.
Punched it. Bezos, take note!
Crabby, you da man!
Done. :-)
Thank you, Sandy.
Done- and good piece by the way.
Thanks, Sam. Appreciate your support.
You're one click closer to fame. Good luck, Matthew.
Okey doke.
You guys are great. It ain't the fame, tho, Tina, it's the dough. I'm sick of looking getting annual Amazon statements in the two figures.
Here's to more dough!
