  • About Me

Pete Domican was born in Bolton, Lancashire but now lives in Welwyn Garden City which isn’t really a city at all (although it does have a lot of gardens). Pete started writing flash and short story fiction in 2011 and was featured in ‘Pay Attention: A River of Stones’ a collection of writing observations and is a regular contributor to the Daniel Ruiz Tizon podcast. He spends far too much time on Twitter as @petedomican

    Why do you write?

I have a battery of energy available to the world. Writing and photography charge that battery. My stories ideas come from the day to day rather than the extraordinary. Everyone has a secret or a story worth sharing!

    Any favorite authors? Books?

I’ve really been inspired by the people I’ve come into contact with since I started writing, mainly in flash and short story - Tania Hershman, Nik Perring, Jon Pinnock, Martha Williams, Claire King, Alison Wells, Rachel Carter, Jo Cannon, Rebecca Emin to name but a few. They all write beautifully.
My favourite books are an odd mix of fact and fiction - ‘Pies And Prejudice’ by Stuart Maconie, Room by Emma Donaghue, ‘Far from the Madding Crowd’ by Thomas Hardy (‘O’ level book!) and ‘Picabo’ the autobiography of Picabo Street, the downhill skier.
