I've written two novels--The Shape of Things to Come and Genealogy--and a short story collection, Drastic.
A handful in no particular order: Isaac Babel's The Red Cavalry, Bruno Schulz's Street of Crocodiles, David Grossman's See Under Love, Katherine Davis's Versailles, Thomas Hardy's The Mayor of Casterbridge, Gould's Book of Fish by Richard Flanagan, Hausman or the Distinction by Paul La Farge, The Book of Salt by Monique Truong, The Master by Colm Toibin. All of Barbara Comyns. Christina Stead's The Man Who Loved Children. And on and on.
hi maud,
glad you are here.

Isaac Babel and Bruno Schultz...you are my kind of gal. Welcome.
I am so happy that someone--and that someone being you--decided to mention Gould's Book of Fish. Excellent!
Hi, Maud. Thanks for putting me onto this site...
What have you been working on, as of late? I have an idea for you. I am sure that you love it when people give you their ideas.
