My novel BARROW'S POINT won the Gival Press Novel Award and will be published by Gival Press in 2016. BARROW'S POINT was also nominated by Gival Press for the New York Center for Fiction's First Novel Award and for the National Book Award. In addition, I've published a collection of short stories titled LIVING WITH STRANGERS (NYU Press), winner of the Bobst Award for Emerging Writers. My stories have appeared in a wide range of literary journals such as BYLINER, GLIMMER TRAIN, THE SEWANEE REVIEW, EPOCH, NEW ENGLAND REVIEW, FICTION, CONFRONTATION, JOYLAND and THE BEST OF WITNESS. Over the years I've won an O. Henry Award, a Pushcart Prize, a Walter E. Dakin fellowship to the Sewanee Writers Conference, and a fellowship from the Chesterfield Film Company Writer's Film project. My screenplays have been optioned by Amblin Entertainment and Warner Brothers. I've also been a Visiting Writer at the Southwest Writers Series and at Stetson University as part of the Tim Sullivan Endowment for Writing series. For two years I served as co-editor of the independent publishing house Outpost19.
