About Me
Marcela Fuentes is a south Texan living in Iowa City with her husband and small son. She is a 2009 graduate of the Iowa Writers' Workshop, where she was a Teaching-Writing Fellow. Her fiction has been published in the Indiana Review, the Vestal Review, Blackbird, and various other literary journals. Recent work has been selected for inclusion in Best of the Web 2009 and New Stories from the Southwest. She was the First Runner-Up for the 2010 Texas Institute of Arts and Letters Dobie Paisano Fellowship. Currently she works for the International Writing Program at the University of Iowa and teaches composition for Kirkwood Community College. She is at work on her first novel.
