  • About Me

Montana-based author of two novels -- "600 Hours of Edward" and "The Summer Son" -- and a handful of short stories. While working on my latest project, I've been experimenting with shorter fiction and having a lot of fun with it.

    Why do you write?

The simplest answer is the best: I don't know how to do anything else, and I don't want to do anything else.

    Any favorite authors? Books?

Grew up drinking lustily from the literature of the American West -- Steinbeck, Doig, Stegner, Hemingway. A good literary grounding but a bad foursome to try to imitate. As I moved into my thirties, I started honing my own voice, for better or worse.
