Her expression was motionless. She had known his answer before she asked the question; he had only known it after. She had seen this attitude grow slowly, yet far too quickly over the course of their marriage. The more indifferent he had become towards life, the more she had become towards him. She had moved out the night before.
great title--double meaning
it's a good start, and wanting to know the reason for the indifference and the reason for them being together makes me want read more. and then the last line annihilates the relationship, so you wonder why are they together now? the day after?
for me, i'd like to know who's telling the story, she or he, which might make me more invested. i also tend to not like so many adverbs, but that's a personal taste.
