in looking in the mirror
what I sometimes see
is the old once new me
flashing intermittently
in the glint and sparkle
of fond memory
so vivid
that when I see
my reflection
the new now old me
is blurred

Previously published by Poems-For-All - 24th street irregular press - small poems in small booklets half the size of a business card - scattered around town -- on buses, trains, cabs, in restrooms, bars, left along with the tip; stuffed into a stranger's back pocket, wherever...
That's a great project. Enjoyed this piece -
"what I sometimes see
is the old once new me"

Splendid intermittent flash! *
Thank you Sam,
Richard Hansen, publisher of Poems-For-All is a mountain of a man with a poetic soul. His enormous collection of poems (all numbered), are scattered everywhere, like seeds. I am honored to have 3 booklets published. I always carry a few of my tiny booklets and others in my purse to scatter in my travels. In tribute to Richard's project, I have been publishing napkin poems each April on RPJ. At some point the collection of poems will be placed in an anthology titled "Napkin Poems."
Thank you Beate,
I have been reading some of your work and rapidly becoming an admirer.
Like the poem and the idea behind it.

Like the project also--poems as seeds! Reminds me of Brautigan's "Please Plant This Book."

Thank you Bill and Susan.
Sigh. Wish that happened to me more often. The new now old me is always crystal clear. *
Jack,
I'm afraid the child within me lives too closely to the surface, and I suppose projects what her mind's eye wishes to see rather than the reality of life's bends and wrinkles. ;-)
